27 years ago, a co-worker invited me to his church to hear a famous preacher. I asked who it was. He said, "Major Ian Thomas". Well, I had never heard of him before, so I went to my second question; what church? Sadly, it wasn't my denomination, so I passed on the invitation. Fortunately for me, my co-worker came back three weeks later and handed me one of the tapes that had been made during those meetings. A transformation began to take place in me almost immediately. I listened to the other ten tapes in the series and got very excited! I had been waiting to hear this news all my life.
I learned that Jesus Christ wasn't only my savior, but he was my life! I ordered more tapes and books, and I told everybody I came in contact with about the "good news" I had discovered. I probably drove some people nuts but, I couldn’t stop talking about it, and in those days I could talk almost as fast as the Major! Ha, ha! The Lord had set me and my family free indeed. I realized that I could go to any church to which he sent me and share his life with others.
The hilarious journey had begun! We met Major Thomas 12 years ago. It was an honor to finally meet the man through whom the Lord had done so much for us. I used to think if I ever got to visit Major Thomas, I would have a million questions to ask him. When we were finally together, there wasn't one question I could think up that I didn't already know what his answer would be... Jesus!
Thanks to all and may God give you comfort and peace as we anticipate our Lord’s soon return and our gathering together unto him.
What a reunion that will be!
