In 1963 I had the privilege of sitting under Major Thomas's teaching during a weeklong Christian Life Convention at New York City's Calvary Baptist Church (then pastored by Dr. Stephen F. Olford). For five consecutive afternoons I drank in every word as Major Thomas expounded the Christ-centered life from the Book of Esther. The doctrine astonished my mind and captured my heart, and "I" perished. Today, over fifty years later, the impact of those meetings still reverberates throughout the palace of my soul, whose corridors "Mordecai" (The Holy Spirit) walks with ever-increasing authority.
