It was in the Fall of 1969, that my sister Jackie and I were privileged to be able to attend Capernwray Bible School in Carnforth, England. It was an even greater privilege to meet the Major up close and personal. We had heard him speak in our home church in Anaheim, California on several occasions and always said we would go to Capernwray if we could . . . we moved to England the very year we attended.

 

For me, it was a time to seriously confront and be confronted with the Lord through His Word. I wrestled greatly with the call of God on my life. Through the wise counsel of the Major and Stuart Briscoe, I was able to discern the will of God for my life. For that and that alone, I will ever be eternally greatful. I would dare say that the reason I am in the pastorate today is because of the Major and Mrs. Thomas' loving and kind words of encouragement to every student in general and to me especially. May his legacy life on.
